Theme: It’s the Little Things
April 11, 2015
Just
Guided by reason,
fair, right, proper, and righteous.
I prefer mercy.
Just
A versatile adverb:
‘within a brief preceding time,’
‘only or merely,’
or ‘by a narrow margin,’
‘actually,’ for real;
the staple “um”
of impromptu prayers.
Juts
Out into the sea,
peninsula surrounded,
aswim with tether.
My favorite line in your poem is “the staple um” – YES, that is so true! I also like how “just” transmogrified into “juts.”

Thank you, Wendy, for visiting, for reading, and for commenting! I’m cracking up all over again: “we just…and we just ask…and just…” 🙂
I loved how just became juts – it was an interesting juxtaposition. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and reading and commenting, Tyrean! Unplanned wordplay gives me no end of delight. 🙂
Just, I can relate most easily to nearly, squeaking by with a narrow margin. I just made it across the road in time! I just missed my ride (whoops!). I also like how you transposed the letters and wrote about the juts! A fun word!
Thanks, Ros.
